Play to Earn Economies

As Base Layer Protocols for Games

Retention is the top priority of every gaming studio. However, instead of putting players first, the mainstream publishers still practice end-to-end ownership and control over the development, distribution, and game management. The play to earn (P2E) model is here to change it.

P2E games address common industry issues by offering full asset ownership to their users and creating greater retention of communities. The authors of the post suggest that at this stage, fancy graphics and large funding rounds do not matter as much as the necessity to build a culture, community and a vibrant economy.

London’s Consequences

Has EIP-1559 Fulfilled Its Objectives?

London hard fork introduced Ethereum Improvement Proposal (EIP) 1559 to solve the gas price issue. Has anything changed yet? Firstly, it’s worth mentioning that the transition is still underway. Secondly, it seems that type 2 transactions do cost less.

Although the market has become more efficient and users are less likely to overpay for gas, there is no evidence of faster transactions. However, since deploying EIP-1559, all users can benefit from quick inclusion without the risk of overpaying. This piece is all about it.

In theory, decentralized autonomous organizations can eventually replace the world’s largest corporations and even states. The latest edition of Around The Block explores the current DAO landscape as well as their future.

Crypto as a Video Game

Trading the Metagame

Crypto markets during bull runs often resemble modern video games rather than investing.

If you’re not sure what metagame is, it can be described as a mix of the game’s basic strategy and rules required to play the game at a high level.

Like with video games, using the metagame in the crypto space raises the player’s chances of winning. It also helps them figure out the easiest and most lucrative opportunities at any given time. Check out this enlightening piece on Meta to get into the details.
