Different Legal Entities for Different DAOs

DAOs serve many purposes, from social clubs and a means of investment to governing DeFi and NFT projects. The only similarity holding them together? According to BanklessDAO, it’s the fact they operate without the benefits of a legal wrapper, or other legal entity.

A legal wrapper or entity can give DAOs and their members some legal protections. While many are still operating in a legal grey area, DAO contributors are starting to realise a legal entity can be a good thing.

What are DAOlitical Parties and DAOliticians?

In traditional terms, metagovernance is the “approach of combining and managing successful combinations of ideas from different governance styles”. In crypto, a possible definition is: holding one DAO’s token to influence decisions in another DAO(s).

0xkydo hypotheses that as the above trend continues in metagovernance, groups of similar ideals and ideas will form political-party-like DAOs to advance their agenda – DAOlitical Parties – and the key individuals who represent these parties – DAOliticians.

Crypto Structured Products

This article on The Mothership describes crypto structured products as a pre-packaged investment vehicle that abstracts away yield-bearing strategies.

Currently, these products are giving users access to pre-packaged, high return investment strategies. This makes it easier for the average retail investor to get involved in the space and access passive yield strategies.

Thoughts on Bitcoin Maximalism

In an interesting blog post, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin breaks down why Bitcoin Maximalism and maximalism are important within crypto communities.

The article goes deep into the fundamental differences between ETH and BTC, the communities, and the tech. Assets such as BTC have real cultural and structural advantages that make them powerful assets worth holding and using. Maximalism is not there for Bitcoin’s sake, but rather it’s there to protect newcomers into the space.

Another Win for MetaMask, and Crypto Adoption

MetaMask recently released news that it intends to expand its list of services and opportunities users can make use of.

The most exciting, for many, is the future integration of the Apple Pay payment gateway, allowing Apple users to start buying crypto almost instantly. Consensys, the owner of MetaMask, also informed its users that the large-scale update would enable them to purchase crypto with up to 70 different fiat currencies.
